As more businesses reconsider college degrees as a requirement for many entry-level roles, hiring managers and senior leaders face the challenge of finding new ways to interview and assess job candidates who lack this traditional prerequisite. While a college degree does not guarantee that an applicant possesses all the necessary skills for a role, it does indicate a level of critical thinking and commitment that can be more difficult to verify without a diploma.

3. Lean On Current Best Practices
Senior leaders and hiring managers can lean on the best practices they are already using: behavioral interviews, situational interviews, skills assessments and other tools. Asking about when candidates have done something similar to what they will be doing shows their capabilities and capacity to learn.
