At a Crossroads – Part 3

At a Crossroads – Part 3

I am currently walking down my own hallway (and yes, it is hell at times!) and I am realizing how truly vital it is to stay connected to others.   I know, I know – I gave that advice in the last post.  What can I say, I sometimes need to be reminded too!

While this hallway is dark and damp, and there are glimmers of light every once in a while, this week, in particular, I am seeing that I am not alone (and not in the creepy horror movie way).   So this post is to encourage you to pause every once in a while, look around and see who is in the hallway with you, and gravitate towards the people who are cheering you on and walking alongside you toward the next door.   How will you know them when you see them?   Here’s a quick check:

  • It’s the person that sends you a card of encouragement
  • It’s the person who smiles big when you walk into the room
  • It’s the person who helps you look back at the hallway and truly see how many steps forward you have taken (even though it feels like you haven’t gone anywhere)
  • They are the person who sends you a text or email with a crazy funny picture and you can’t help but start laughing out loud
  • They are the person who, even if for a couple minutes, helps you think of something else than the hallway and “the door”
  • They are those beautiful people who breathe life into your soul
  • You look forward to seeing them and talking to them

As you keep walking, stay connected to these people.

I feel truly blessed to be surrounded by so many great people in my hallway – it just took me stopping a moment and truly looking around.

Thank you all my hallway friends!
